This page is for the 6K907 and 6K908 shims that will `n installing the 6K885 (or alternate 97H512) front (input shaft) bearing in the gearbox (for Austin B-series 3-synchronizer gearboxes).
Dimensions: 2.500" ID --- 2.938" OD --- Thickness to order --- Original parts 0.002" and 0.004", but it may be advantageous to have a 0.010" shim in your collection.
NOTICE: If you will be procuring these shims to rebuild a gearbox, keep in mind that the gland space (which you must measure very carefully) that you will be filling with these shims may commonly be 0.006" up to 0.016" (which I just encountered the day before writing this page) or possibly a bit more. These shims may only be available in 0.002" or 0.004" thicknesses. Buying (1x) 0.002 and (2x) 0.004 can allow building an adjustment stack in 0.002" increments up to 0.010". That may be enough if the gearbox already had some shims in it. HOWEVER, it is also very common (like most cases after 50 years) that some or all of the original shims may be damaged or entirely missing. So you may want to procure more shims, like (2x) 0.002 and (4x) 0.004, so you can fill up to 0.020" gland space.
