This electric fan setup comes form Patrick Mulholland in Australia. He reports:
"After paying $20 at the local car wreckers for two near new 9 inch thermo fan units, I decided to install a relay and also to use the currently unused "F" switch on the dash as a manual over-ride for the thermo switch. I experimented with alternatives that included with and without shrouds and eventually settled on the solution shown in the pictures. Over the last few years, the fans have worked very well and keep the engine nice and cool. The best improvement is around town in slow moving traffic".
