AEH442 TC.A.5 Flywheel complete -(crankshaft, engine, Twin Cam)
Most MGA flywheels were 1.19-in thick solid cast iron, weighing bout 28 pounds. The flywheel for Twin Cam engines was steel, hollowed out on the front face to be lighter weight.
During MGA 1600-MK-II production, beginning in September 1961, Com.(E)16GC/3708, the front face of the flywheel was hollowed out (similar to the Twin Cam flywheel) making the pushrod engine flywheel 8-pounds lighter. See FW-202 for dimensions.
The lighter flywheel followed on into MGB production to end of the 1800 3-main bearing engine (using 3 dowel pins for the clutch cover rather than 2.
