By popular demand, here is a fabrication drawing for the rear retainer bar for the MGA convertible top. Click for larger printable pdf file.



The center section should remain flat as fabricated. It is somewhat springy and will easily conform to the car body contour when installed. The slight spring effect helps to hold the fabric down in the center. The 15 inch radius falls on and immediately outboard of the retainer hooks. The 24 inch radius should follow contour of the car body. It is okay if the tip ends of the bar fall very close to the body, but should not touch the paint when the bar is installed without the fabric.
