Appeared on the cover of Safety Fast in Nov. 1961 after winning the California Cup
Dr. Frans Henskens wrote:
"The car was imported to Australia in about 2011, and my friend purchased it in 2020. We now have it in pretty nice condition, and enjoy it a great deal! It is so different to the pushrod cars we also have. -- I have more information on the car, including a letter I received from Sir Boyd in response to my contacting him, and a photo of the car fully airborne at the top of a grass hill climb in the late 50s".
On 2/13/2024, Prof Frans Henskens wrote:
"The owner of the TC is Prof Leo Pinczewski - he lives on the NSW Central Coast.
I have collected some more photos, as attached. I also knocked up a couple of pages of the TC's history, as attached. It does contain the owner history, and some of the motorsport achievements during Boyd Tunnocks custodianship.
BTW, Tunnocks comment on the hill climb photo was ‘You can see I was trying".

b. Removed heater pipes and blanked off engine connections
c. Removed and re-painted body (not the best job)
d. Brake and clutch master cylinders incorrectly re-fitted (brake MC
wedges fitted one to each cylinder!)
e. Removed brake booster
f. Removed fog lights and reversing light that had been on car since
1950s and fitted them to his blue Twin Cam coupe which he
subsequently sold. Grr
13. 29 November 2020 sold to Prof Leo Pinczewski of Pearl Beach NSW Australia
a. Sourced (in Belgium) and installed original steel pipes to oil
cooler system –at some time a PO had replaced them with MGB-style
rubber pipes, apparently more reliable for motor sport
b. Removed telescopic front shock absorbers and reverted suspension to
original
c. Reconnected heater pipes
d. Replaced poorly fabricated splash panels, performed many minor panel
and paint repairs (note body was rust free and no rust repairs
required)
e. Repaired & restored leaky water pump
f. Reverted oil filter to original
g. Re-built brake and clutch master cylinders and fitted the wedges
correctly so no more unnecessary pressure on pistons
h. Replaced rear wheel bearings and seals to fix oil leak
i. Re-upholstered interior using Bob West-supplied components and
reverted the colour to original red. Also replaced carpets
j. Restored original SU carburetors, removed twin Webers, and restored
the original carburetors – however soft-mounted them to the
manifold to hopefully avert piston meltings
k. Replaced later-model high pressure SU fuel pump with correct
restored original SU pump
l. Fitted period Pirelli Cinturato tyres
m. Re-chromed bumpers and most brightwork. Did not re-fit badge bar
