MGA Part Numbers - UHN105, UHN205, UHN305, UHN400, UHN405


Most of the grease fittings on the MGA will have 1/16-BSPT threads. British Standard Pipe Tapered.

The UHN105 straight fitting seems to be superseded by UHN305, essentially same part and interchangeable.
UHN205 is the 45 degree fitting.
UHN405 is the 90 degree fitting.
UHN400 is another straight fitting, but may be a smaller thread size.

The common thread size is 1/16-BSPT (tapered), 28-threads per inch. The 1/16 size designation refers to the inside diameter of the pipe, so the outside diameter is much larger.

Being British standard, it is a Whitworth thread form with 55 degree thread angle. Being tapered the "official" major diameter is 0.304-inch at the 3-4 thread position. The largest diameter at the fat end of the thread is a bit more than 0.312", so you might get a 5/16-24-UNF bolt to screw in a turn or two before stopping tight.

The common American grease fitting sizes are 1/4-28 tapered (smaller than 1/16-BSPT) and 1/8-NPT tapered (larger than 1/16-BSPT). Knowing what you re looking for you can do a web search for 1/16-BSP (or 1/16-BSPT) grease fitting. Don't know if a hardware store would have them, but an auto parts store might.
