BTB145 is a hex head bolt with a special drawing number, because it has a precision diameter shank and special shank length for pilot fit. It is used for securing the brake rotor disc to the front wheel bearing hub of MGA 1600 cars,. Thread size is 3/8-24-UNF on the high strength bolt. The predecessor to this part was a BTB104 knurled neck stud.
With a design change, the knurled neck stud changed to this special hex head bolt.
The knurled neck stud finished at (C)69504 for disc wheels, and (C)70275 for wire wheels.
The hex head bolt commenced at (C)69505 for disc wheels, and (C)70276 for wire wheels.
Note that the bearing hub assembly numbers changed at the same time.
This design change happened in June 1959 following introduction of the 1600 model in May 1959 at (C)68851. As such, only 655 DW cars and 1426 WW cars got the early knurled neck studs. The BTB104 knurled neck studs may be hard to find as modern replacement parts.
Alternate part number: 264-400 (Moss Motors).
