These shims are to be used to adjust the inboard steering ball joint to zero clearance (near as possible). The shims are (or were originally) steel. Reason for the split line is to allow installation of the shim in the recess space below the thread, when the shim ID is as small as the minor diameter of the male thread.

Install with:
ACA5246 Seat -ball
ACA5301 Shim, ball housung 0.003" (0.076 mm) -as req'd
ACA5302 Shim, ball housung 0.005" (0.127 mm) -as req'd
ACA5304 Housing -female ball
ACA6031 Housing -male ball
