'TA': Development of 'PB'-type but larger and with 1292-cc pushrod ohv, 4-cylinder engine (50 bhp at 4000 rpm). Twin SU carburetors, 4-speed gearbox (non-synchromesh at first; later synchromesh on 3rd and top). Hydraulic brakes, half-eliptic springs, centre-lock wire wheels.

'TB' introduced May 1939: 1250-cc larger carburetors, 54.4 bhp at 5200 rpm, synchromesh on 2nd, 3rd, and top gears. Two-seater sports, Tickford drop-head coupe and fixed-head Airline Coupe bodies. Approximately 3400 built.
