"Attached are pictures of the synchro rings. They don't actually show the faults, as they are not really noticeable to the naked eye. However, when they are put onto the gear, they rock, rather than sit firmly, and my gearbox engineer says it is because they are oval. They were bought from David Manners in Birmingham. I have just got some more from Brown and Gammons, but they came in the same packaging, and were even worse. I have found another supplier, who has British made rings, and I will let you know how I get on".

"There was very little packaging, just card covered in a film. This was the same from both suppliers. The 2nd gear ring was alright, but the engineer thinks it was original equipment rather than a modern copy. Both suppliers have agreed to refund the money, but as yet have made little comment about the faults".
